Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention (LTSP) currently operates from a base that we will have to leave in January 2027. We are urgently looking for a new, long-term home that will allow us to continue our suicide prevention patrols across Limerick City.

Our base is used to securely store patrol equipment, prepare volunteers for patrols, hold training sessions and meetings, and provide a central point for our team to operate from.

We don't need a huge building. Ideally, we are looking for a small premises with 2–3 rooms, secure storage space and an area that can be used as an office and training room.

Yes. Location is extremely important. Our volunteers patrol the River Shannon and surrounding areas at night, so being within walking distance of the river allows our team to respond quickly and operate efficiently.

There are several ways you can help. You can donate, share our appeal, contact businesses or property owners who may have a suitable space, or simply spread the word. One share could put us in front of the person who has the space we need.

Our base is more than just an office. It gives us somewhere to securely store essential equipment, prepare for patrols, train volunteers and coordinate our work. Without suitable premises, continuing our service would become significantly more difficult.

LTSP currently operates without direct government funding. We rely heavily on volunteers, donations, fundraising and support from our community to continue providing our service.

Yes. LTSP has made efforts to seek assistance and explore options with Limerick City and County Council. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we have not yet been able to secure a suitable premises or solution through the Council.
We remain open to working with the Council and other public bodies if an appropriate opportunity becomes available. Our priority is simply finding a safe, suitable and sustainable home so that our service can continue.
